Install the app and connect a tablet
Get DineStack onto a tablet and join it to your restaurant with a one-time setup code.
Install the DineStack app
DineStack installs on your tablet directly from DineStack rather than from an app store. While downloads are being opened up, contact DineStack and we will help you install the app on your tablet — submit a ticket or call the support line, and we will walk you through it.
Never uninstall the DineStack app from a register. Uninstalling deletes any sales the tablet has not yet sent to DineStack.
Connect the tablet to your restaurant
- In the owner dashboard, go to Setup → Devices.
- Under Add a terminal, choose POS terminal for a register or Kitchen screen for a kitchen tablet.
- Give it a name staff will recognize, such as “Counter 1” or “Kitchen screen”, and press Generate code. DineStack asks you to confirm it is you first.
- A code like ABC-DEF-GHJ appears once. It works for one device and expires in 15 minutes.
- On the tablet, open DineStack. The Connect this register screen asks for the code. Type it in and press Connect register.
- Back in the dashboard, press I have typed it in.
Only the owner can connect devices. Codes you generated but did not use are listed under Codes waiting to be used, each with Cancel.
Rename or stop a tablet
Every connected device is listed on Devices with when it was last heard from. Use Rename, or Stop this device if a tablet is lost, stolen or retired: it stops taking orders straight away. Stopped devices stay listed under Stopped devices.
Ten wrong codes in 15 minutes pauses code entry on that tablet for 15 minutes. Generate a fresh code if yours expired.
